Every year, 25th May, is commemorated as the International Missing Children’s Day, with the forget-me-not flower as its emblem. This year’s theme is “together we can bring back our missing children home”. Throughout the day, we remember children who have disappeared with or without trace and input on safety measures that parents/guardians can employ to protect children.
During this day, there is a massive, worldwide social media campaign where participants are encouraged to share images of those who are still missing on all forms of social media as well as celebrating stories of those who have been found.
In Kenya, the first commemoration for the International Missing Children Day was in 2019. The event was marked at Nairobi Children’s Remand Home with the theme “Bring our children back Home”.
The Department of Children Services together with the Technical Working Group on Missing Children invites you to a webinar that aims to create awareness on issues pertaining Missing Children on May 25th, 2021 from 10.00 Am to 12.00 PM.
