In her first public comments since the body of her 5-year-old son, Samuel Olson, was found in a Texas motel room, his grieving mother, Sarah Olson pointed a finger at the boy’s father, Dalton Olson whose ex-girlfriend Theresa Balboa has already been arrested in connection with the case.
While Samuel had not attended school late April 2021, investigators suspect Theresa Balboa had been watching the boy until around mid-May. On May 10 however, she called her roommate, an unidentified male, and told him about the child. In an interview with authorities, the man said he returned home after the call and discovered Samuel Olson bruised and unresponsive on the bed. From there, they moved the body into the bathtub, where it remained for two days. Eventually, the pair dropped a container holding the body off at a storage unit, though Theresa Balboa later returned on May 31 with a different friend to pick up the foul-smelling box. They then drove to a motel in Jasper, about 115 miles northeast of Houston, where police would find Samuel’s body in a box the next day.
Dalton Olson, has of 17th June 2021 not been charged but continues to face questioning in the case.

I really appreciate the example being played as it is being described. Just ties it all together. Please keep it going.
Hmmm. Respectfully, I feel it is easy enough to watch the clip, listen to the analysis, then see it replayed after the comments to help me learn. Sometimes I re-wind to look again, but I find the usual format very straightforward to follow. Just adding the comment because I know it adds so much more time to the editing to do this, and while it is a ‘nice to have’, the extra editing is not a ‘need to have’ element. (In my opinion.) X
@Kay Marham You are right. I was thinking how long this would take to edit! I’d be happy with either format. I was used to the original way and that is the easiest for them to upload quicker.
@Niamh Hey Naimh, true. We have to consider their time too!
You guys should do 7 year old Kyron horman step mom Terri moulton. The day Kyron became missing 11 years ago. She took him to school then he vanished. She was the last person to see him. Now she not talking
Totally agree 👍
I really like the new editing style with the clips interspersed. As someone with a bad memory, it means I don’t have to keep winding back to see what you’re talking about. I imagine it must take a lot of extra effort to edit, but it is much appreciated! 😀
Showing the little clips embedded into your analysis is an EXCELLENT addition to this video! I hope you keep that as a regular feature!
Couldn’t agree more!:)
So true.
Yes please! 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
I totally agree. I find myself scooting back through the video more than I’d like to otherwise b/c I want to see if I can catch all the details mentioned in the analysis- I FAR prefer this (esp since I should be sleeping when I’m usually watching- so, so fascinating and I love all these fellas).
Yeah, helps a lot!
I can’t tell you how happy I am that you guys are pulling up parts of the video while you’re talking about it! Finally! It makes a world of a difference! Its just that by the time all of you finished talking I’d forget what each of you told me to look for. Bravo. I’m officially subscribing! Ty
Grandma was the one who knew him and loved him. My heart goes out to her. Her beloved grandson was taken from her.
Okay, that “supermommy” thing and listing what she has done for him as if there is some gratitude or debt to be owed her is super strange. I think that statement rather reflects how she sees herself and her role as a stepmother
I thought that was strange too when she was saying it. Kids don’t “realize what you have done for them”. They are just kids. So very sad – the wrong person died!
Sounds like she was reading from the book of Laticia.. Though seems she had some actual bad boys in her story as opposed to tee’s imaginary egwardo ect.
He “used” to call her super mommy. Dads gf uses Several past tense words to describe Sam. RIP little Sam
the inserted clips during the commentary for recall and illustration are a nice touch and extra bit of effort. Big fan!
I really appreciate how you guys have started using the clips from the videos to show what you are describing. I understand this takes a lot more effort in editing. Please continue to do this. 👏🏻
I feel the same. 🙏
Chase is the man! Would hate to play poker with that guy 🤣😂🤣
ANY of these four would take me to the cleaners🤣
Mark is a ♡ sexy beast ♡
When Greg was breaking down the grandma’s sadness, you could see the pain in everyone else in the panel… You all are great people doing good things ❤ thanks for sharing your breakdowns
The clips now included to highlight what you guys are talking about, when you are actually mentioning these things, have made these so much more easy to fully watch. These videos have always been intresting, but the direct correlation from observations to the actual video, moves the panels video along more seamlessly and helps the viewers to stay focused and comprehend what is being discussed.
Please just put a sentence at the end describing the outcome. That way we could see if we were right or wrong on certain points, like: “(date)6 year old boy found dead, gf arrested. Father had alibi but still person of interest. Grandma devastated”. Just something….ANYthing to describe the outcome at that point in time.
Honestly, the grandma probably feels a lot of guilt too: she facilitated her son taking and hiding Sam from his Mother, and allowed Theresa to keep Sam, unmonitored for over 3 weeks.
I really appreciate that the editor took the time to sync the interviews with when the experts are describing the specific behaviors. Thank you!
I believe Scott does that – and I agree with you 100% – but maybe it’s too much work, seeing as they haven’t done it in recent videos, IDK…
She has her own children and couldn’t care for them and lost custody of her own kids! If she can’t care for her own children how the hell can she care for Sam? Oh good lord, that smirk!!
What a contrast between grandma and the girlfriend. Rip sweet little dinosaur loving Sam, maybe he would have become a paleontologist. So sad. On a side note, Mark reminds me of Austin Powers.
I just saw Mark on an old episode of Murdoch Mysteries. I was like, “WHO is that? I know that guy from somewhere” and didn’t figure it out until I found the cast for that episode! He sure hasn’t aged much since 2010. 😊
@Lisa B oh my! I love that show! I’ve seen every episode! I must go search back now lol 😃😄👍🏻
Groovy baby
@Molly Allen It’s called “The Murdoch Identity” and is the first episode of season 3.
i joke about being an empath but i immediately started tearing up when the grandmother was talking. It’s amazing what actual emotions can evoke in other people. The father’s emotions in comparison are hollow
Same, heartbreaking…:’(
Not hollow, but much less than the grandma, and not enough for me to cry with him. But I feel like his guilt is real, and it’s justified guilt for leaving him with that woman.
“He used to call me Super Mommy…….or Theresa.” snicker. But she looks like she almost lost it for that second after saying, “He used to call me Super Mommy”. She was probably envisioning the last thing she’d done to him. Also, no. A Five-year old boy does NOT know how much people do for him. I think she was ‘complaining’ about HAVING to do stuff for him.
I think you nailed it! Her attitude is just so appalling —
Oh my goodness, yes! When she said he didn’t know how much they do for him, the expression had so much contempt for that boy. As if that’s the very reason he went missing. He didn’t appreciate her. Maybe was irritating with wanting something and she snapped. Oof.
Theresa had her own children taken away prior to this AND murdered this boy Samuel. She’s frankly scary. Her hostility towards the child is achingly obvious.
I felt genuine grief and sadness, when the grandmother was interviewed. My eyes started to water at the part where she said that he’s smart and likes dinosaurs, and it reminded me of my nephew. But I felt nothing, while the other two were being interviewed.
