This online event will discuss the recent news around unmarked burials and the missing children from a Survivor perspective. Survivors have been telling this country for many years that children went missing and were buried at the schools. Many families were not always told when their children went missing, were transferred to different schools or medical facilities far away from their community, or even that the child had died.
Survivors will discuss the work currently being done in communities, what is needed from governments and organizations to do the work, and what is necessary now to make sure the children are remembered and honoured through culture and ceremony. Hosted by Leo Dufault with special guests Dorene Bernard, Madeleine Basile, Richard Kistabish, and Joyce Hunter.
Thank you for this video! Do you have a version that isn’t dubbed? I saw that there is an English dubbed version and a French dubbed version, but I didn’t see any bilingual ones?
Landyn Toney – Landyn’s Journey of Awareness is on facebook. He inspired so many people to learn about the Residential School era and the genocide that happened in Canada. I wanted people to know his name!!
