Ibogaine vs. Iboga: What’s the Difference? | Nekawa

Ibogaine vs. iboga: what’s the difference between the molecule and the traditional plant experience?

Charles Johnston of Nekawa explores traditional iboga, ibogaine HCl, full-spectrum extracts, and the place of spiritual support alongside medical care. This conversation asks what we preserve—and what we may overlook—when a plant tradition becomes a clinical intervention.

Watch for three questions: How does the approach shape the experience? What does “full spectrum” mean? And how can we respect the roots while taking medical safety seriously?

CLINICAL CONTEXT
This interview shares the speaker’s perspective, including hypotheses about dosing and other plant alkaloids. It does not establish that full-spectrum preparations or cumulative dosing are safer or more effective than ibogaine HCl, or that longer experiences repair the brain. Addiction and mental health involve biological, psychological, and social factors; spiritual support can complement evidence-based care. Effective medications exist. Do not stop prescribed treatment based on this video.

Ibogaine can cause serious cardiac complications, including QT prolongation and potentially fatal arrhythmias. Natural origin and traditional use do not remove those risks. Medical screening, medication review, monitoring, and emergency capability matter. This is education, not a dosing guide or individualized medical advice.
