20 Most Shocking American Crime Cases Ever Investigated

On Thanksgiving Eve, 1971, a man calling himself Dan Cooper jumped from a jetliner into a freezing storm with $200,000 — and was never seen again. This documentary investigates the 20 most shocking American crime cases: from D.B. Cooper to the Zodiac Killer, the Black Dahlia to the Lindbergh kidnapping — the investigations the FBI closed, and the ones it never could. Fingerprints named a victim in fifty-six minutes. Ballistics matched a bullet to a gun. A manifesto’s strange phrases betrayed its author. Some cases ended in convictions, some in acquittals, and some in questions still open — including the only unsolved skyjacking in American history and thirteen empty frames still hanging on a museum wall.
