This episode is adapted from *Cape Verde*, a volume in the new edition of the *Countries of the World* series published by Social Sciences Academic Press. Written by Kuang Yanxiang and Li Guangyi, the book is designated as a key project under the 13th Five-Year National Key Book Publishing Plan.
Breaking away from the conventional great-power narrative perspective, the program focuses on Cape Verde, a lesser-known nation isolated in the central North Atlantic.
