Elantris, Brandon Sanderson’s first published book and the beginning of the
Cosmere, recapped in under 1000 seconds.
A prince is struck by a mysterious curse the night before his wedding and
secretly exiled to the ruined city of Elantris, left for dead. His bride
arrives to marry a man everyone tells her is gone. And a foreign priest has
three months to convert an entire kingdom — or watch an army do it instead.
This is the story of Elantris: a fallen city, a hidden magic system that
stopped working, and three people whose choices decide whether the kingdom
survives. Whether you’re new to Sanderson or looking for where the Cosmere
began, everything you need is right here.
