Two physicists in 1966 attempt the impossible — travelling only fifteen minutes into the future. But when their experimental time machine malfunctions, Nora and Héctor are thrown all the way into 2025, where the world they knew has completely disappeared.
At first, the future feels like the greatest scientific discovery of their lives. Technology has transformed society, decades have passed for everyone they loved, and their own disappearance has become part of history. But while Nora begins to embrace the freedom and opportunities of this new era, Héctor becomes increasingly desperate to repair their machine and return home.
Their accidental journey soon becomes much more than a time-travel experiment. The couple must confront a changed family, a damaged timeline, the possibility of rewriting the past, and eventually a painful choice between the life they built together and the different worlds in which each of them feels they belong.
