The Masked Man Wasn’t Acting Alone | Nancy Guthrie Case
Dominic Aaron Lee Evans — the founding drummer of the Tucson-based band Early Black — has recently come under intense online scrutiny in connection with the mysterious disappearance of 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie.
Evans has reportedly been a bandmate of Tommaso Cioni for nearly two decades. Public records from Pima County, Arizona show past felony convictions including burglary, robbery, theft, and embezzlement. Interestingly, Evans also appears to match several elements of the physical description released by the FBI for the masked suspect captured on doorbell footage outside Nancy Guthrie’s home.
According to investigators, the suspect seen on the Nest doorbell camera is estimated to be around 5’9″ to 5’10” with an average build and facial hair. Former FBI profiler Jim Clemente also pointed out what appears to be a possible mark or tattoo on the suspect’s wrist. Some online researchers claim a similar marking can be seen in old performance footage of Early Black.
Even more intriguing, forensic investigators reportedly recovered two separate DNA profiles during the investigation — one from a glove outside the home and another from inside the residence. This discovery has raised the possibility that more than one individual may have been involved.
Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos has stated publicly that investigators have not ruled out the possibility of an accomplice.
Nancy Guthrie — the 84-year-old mother of Today Show host Savannah Guthrie — was last seen on January 31, 2026, after being dropped off at her Tucson home by her son-in-law Tommaso Cioni, the husband of Annie Guthrie.
