A Boeing 777 with 239 people cannot simply vanish and yet MH370 did. So what actually happened to it? Everyone has a theory: a fire, a hijacking, the captain, a government cover-up, Diego Garcia, even aliens. In this follow-up to our full MH370 breakdown, we take every serious theory and the wildest ones and test each against the one thing that never lies: the evidence.
We start with the five hard facts any theory has to survive: the transponder switching off at the blind spot between two countries, the deliberate waypoint-by-waypoint turn-back, the 2:25 a.m. satellite reboot, the seven hourly handshakes tracing south into the Indian Ocean, and the real wreckage that washed ashore with its wing flap not set for a landing. Then, one by one:
• The “ghost flight” decompression and the oxygen-bottle hypoxia scenario • The fire / “Langkawi turn” theory • A lithium-battery cargo fire • Hijacking by a third party • The deliberate diversion and the captain’s home flight simulator (handled honestly: a red flag, not a confession no one has ever been proven responsible) • Shot down + cover-up (“no fighters were scrambled”) • Landed at Diego Garcia • The wild file the “orb” videos (confirmed CGI hoaxes), geopolitical swaps, alien abduction
For each: the case FOR, the case AGAINST, and an honest verdict — plausible, unlikely, contradicted, or debunked. Then what actually survives all five facts, the glide-vs-dive debate over how it ended, and the newest 2026 leads (the Cape Leeuwin hydrophone signal + amateur radio tracking) as Ocean Infinity’s search runs on into 2027.
Everything is grounded in the official 2018 Malaysian report, ATSB search data and Inmarsat’s satellite analysis. No cockpit recorder was ever recovered, so no cockpit dialogue is invented; the only radio lines are known ATC exchanges, labelled recreations. And no living person is accused of a crime the evidence has never proven.
