Lyrics:
Two stubborn young men and a line in the sand,
We walked out on brotherhood, slamming the hand.
Years folded over, the silence grew cold,
A story abandoned, half-written, untold.
But something is shifting under the floor,
This isn’t the friendship we buried before.
The puzzle pieces are starting to slide,
Now there’s a new kind of gravity pulling inside.
Then a chance collision, a crowded café,
We sat down for hours and talked it away.
You smirked, “Still staring, you naughty bastard, I see,”
And the warmth in your voice broke the armor on me.
But something is shifting under the floor,
This isn’t the friendship we buried before.
The puzzle pieces are starting to slide,
Now there’s a new kind of gravity pulling inside.
We masked it in anger, we masked it in fight,
But the tension was burning even then in the night.
You’re not just a brother, not just an old mate,
You’re the missing perspective, the twist of my fate.
The streetlights were dimmed as we stood in the chill,
No more talking of yesterday, the universe still.
“You naughty bastard, you’re doing it again”
And the warmth in your voice broke the last of my skin
You stepped in closer, no doubt left in your eyes,
And our mouths finally met where the old ghost dies.
No more lost years.
Just your hands on my face.
And the slate finally clear.
