Long before she became one of the most recognisable voices in the world, Sinéad made a decision that would define how millions saw her. Her shaved head wasn’t simply fashion — it became part of a much bigger story about identity, independence and her refusal to let the music industry decide what a female artist should look like.
Then came Nothing Compares 2 U — and the extraordinary voice behind that unmistakable image became impossible to ignore.
But worldwide fame was only the beginning.
In 1992, Sinéad O’Connor tore up a photograph of Pope John Paul II live on Saturday Night Live. The backlash was immediate and brutal, becoming one of the defining controversies of her career.
This film follows Sinéad’s remarkable and often painful journey through international superstardom, controversy, religion and faith, her later conversion to Islam and the name Shuhada Sadaqat, the devastating loss of her son Shane in 2022, and Sinéad’s own death in 2023.
Finally, we travel to Deansgrange Cemetery in Dublin to visit Sinéad O’Connor’s grave and final resting place.
