The Ottawa Police Service (OPS) is seeking the public’s help, in locating 13-year-old, Nakita Morris-Copenace, a missing Indigenous girl from Ottawa, Ontario. Nakita is described, as having brown eyes and brown, shoulder-length hair (*with blonde highlighted tips), is 5’ 2″ in height with a slim build and weighs approximately, 120 lbs. She was last seen wearing a black Nike hooded sweater, black Nike sweatpants with a hole at the knee and white Nike shoes. She was also wearing a dark-blue New York Yankees baseball cap and a gold, pull-string-style bracelet with a diamond, on her right hand.
Nakita was last seen on Sunday August 16th 2026, at approximately, 9:00 P.M., near Knoxdale and Greenbank Roads, in Ottawa, Ontario. She frequents the downtown area, especially, the Rideau Centre and the Byward market. Police and Nakita’s relations are very concerned for her well-being.
