Episode Title: MS-00381 – Michigan: Walk That Never Ended
Case Overview
Steven Earl Kraft, Jr. was a 12-year-old boy with deep roots in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and Lexington, Kentucky, known for his love of familiar routines and walking his dogs. Standing 5 feet 2 inches tall and weighing about 100 pounds, he had sandy brown hair, striking green eyes, and a small red birthmark on the left side of his torso. On the evening he vanished—February 15, 2001, in Benton Township, Michigan—he was wearing a blue-green Charlotte Hornets basketball jacket, a tan-and-white striped T-shirt, tan parachute pants, and black boots. Between 7:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m., Steven stepped out near his residence on Holly Road to walk his two dogs, but never returned home for dinner. Although his dogs were eventually found safe days later, Steven disappeared without a trace. In the decades since, the Benton Charter Township Police Department and the FBI have kept the case active through extensive searches, tips, and witness re-interviews, while organizations like NCMEC have provided age-progressed imagery. Ongoing public spotlights and digital archival efforts through 2026 continue to keep pressure alive in hopes of uncovering what happened to him.
