Reacting to T.O.’s 81-Yard TD on His First Eagles Play

August 20, 2004. First Eagles offensive play. McNabb drops back. T.O. goes deep. 81 yards later, Philadelphia absolutely loses its mind.

The MOD and Eddie Black go back and react to Terrell Owens’ first touchdown as an Eagle — an 81-yard bomb from Donovan McNabb against the Baltimore Ravens in the preseason.

It was only preseason, but if you were an Eagles fan watching that night, it sure didn’t feel like preseason. After years of waiting for Donovan McNabb to get a weapon like T.O., one play was enough to make it feel like the Eagles had finally found the missing piece.

And for one glorious season, they had.

Plus, MOD and Eddie take another trip through what else was happening on August 20 and somehow end up discussing Juvenile, Jim Thorpe, the birth of the NFL and George Steinbrenner.

Broad Street Legacy celebrates the past, prays for the future and, of course, criticizes the present.

What old Philly sports news story should MOD and Eddie react to next? Tell us in the comments.
