The Incident: In December 2025, Flagler County deputies stopped registered sex offender Darnell Hairston, who had abducted a missing 11-year-old boy. But while Hairston was being handcuffed, 15-year-old Junior Bishop jumped into the stolen truck and slammed the gas!
The Chase: Bishop reached speeds exceeding 104 MPH, swerving into oncoming traffic and ramming a deputy’s cruiser.
The Crash: The pursuit ended when the heavy truck flipped violently into the treeline. Deputies swarmed the smoking wreckage at gunpoint, apprehending Bishop and safely rescuing the 11-year-old boy.
The Charges: Following a 3-month investigation, Bishop was charged as an adult with Principal to Armed Kidnapping of a Minor, Aggravated Fleeing & Eluding, and Grand Theft.
The Incident: On January 9, 2026, Florida Highway Patrol responded to a stolen black Hyundai Kona traveling northbound on I-75.
The Chase: Driver Michael Lawrence Sink (60) ignored all orders to pull over, pushing the stolen SUV up to 120 MPH into heavy traffic and passing vehicles on the highway shoulder.
The Takeaway: After multiple aggressive PIT maneuvers and colliding with 3 patrol cruisers, troopers completely pinned the vehicle, smashed the passenger window, and dragged Sink out.
The Delusion: Inside the squad car, Sink casually claimed he “thought he was free to go” and was just “trying to borrow the car with a note!”
