On March 19, 2004, 17-year-old Brianna Maitland left her job at the Black Lantern Inn in Montgomery, Vermont.
She was expected to drive to a friend’s house.
She never arrived.
The next day, her green 1985 Oldsmobile was found backed into the side of the Old Dutchburn Barn. The doors were unlocked. The keys were missing. Her paychecks were still inside.
But Brianna was gone.
Years later, advanced DNA testing identified the source of DNA found near the vehicle, but Vermont State Police said that did not mean a suspect had been identified.
The FBI now offers a reward of up to $40,000 for information leading to her recovery.
The car was found. The road was known. The distance from work was short.
