The Rosthern RCMP are asking for the public’s assistance, in locating 15-year-old, Mary Charles and 16-year-old, Iona Sangwais, two missing Indigenous girls from Beardy’s and Okemasis’ Cree Nation, in Rosthern, Saskatchewan.
Mary is described, as having brown eyes and curly, black hair (*with a violet-reddish tint), is 5′ 3″ in height and weighs approximately, 120 lbs. She was last seen wearing dark-coloured clothing.
Iona is described, as having brown eyes and long, straight, brown hair, is 5′ 3″ in height and weighs approximately, 115 lbs. She was last seen wearing dark-coloured clothing.
Mary and Iona were last seen on August 23rd 2026, on the Beardy’s and Okemasis’ Cree Nation Pow Wow grounds, south of Duck Lake, near Rosthern, Saskatchewan. They are known to travel to Prince Albert and Beardy’s and Okemasis’ Cree Nation and investigators believe they may be together. Police and Mary and Iona’s relations are very concerned for their well-being.
