A butterfly life cycle story for kids! 🦋 Snappy finds a tiny striped caterpillar munching on a leaf, and he can’t wait to see what happens next. 🐊💚
The hungry caterpillar eats and eats, grows too big for its skin, then hangs upside down like the letter J… and the next morning it’s gone! In its place hangs a smooth green chrysalis with tiny golden dots. Snappy learns to look with his eyes, not his hands, and to wait patiently, until one morning the chrysalis turns see-through and out comes a beautiful monarch butterfly.
A gentle animated nature story for toddlers and preschoolers (ages 2–6). Great for bedtime, quiet time, or a first science lesson about how caterpillars turn into butterflies.
🦋 What your child will learn:
• The butterfly life cycle: egg → caterpillar → chrysalis → butterfly.
• Monarch caterpillars only eat milkweed (called swan plant in New Zealand).
• Caterpillars shed their skin as they grow.
• A chrysalis needs peace and time, about two weeks. Never touch or open one.
• New wings are crumpled and wet and need to dry in the sun.
• Butterflies sip nectar with a long curly tongue and taste with their feet!
• Wild creatures belong free in the open sky, not in a jar.
• Big changes take time, and waiting patiently brings wonderful surprises.
