What is Python? A programming language: a way to write exact instructions for a computer, in words that people can read too.
In this lesson: where Python is used (Instagram, Netflix, science, AI and everyday automation), where its name comes from, what a Python program and the Python interpreter are, why the interpreter compiles your whole file to bytecode before it runs any of it, and the two kinds of mistakes (syntax errors, and runtime errors).
Level: beginner. Python 3.15.
The programs in this lesson:
print(“Hello! Welcome to Python.”)
print(“start”)
print(“middle”)
print(“end”)
print(“start”)
print(10 / 0)
print(“end”)
