  1. The Flagler County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO) was notified that an 11-year-old ran away from home on Thursday evening around 6:17 p.m. Deputies responded to September Place in Palm Coast and began searching for the child after the mother reported he ran out of the back door carrying his backpack, pillow, and a red blanket. Corporal Gimbel and K-9 Holmes, the FCSO’s bloodhound, arrived on scene and collected a pillow case for a scent article. K-9 Holmes took the scent article and pursued the trail through the backyard wooded area. K-9 Holmes located the juvenile hiding underneath his blanket in the woods several streets away from his residence. He was not injured and deputies were able to bring him back to his residence safely.

  2. Please tell me they did not take that kid back to his mum without an investigation! That poor baby would rather sleep outside then be with his mum. Something is wrong here.

  3. Thank goodness he was found so quickly. Just because he ran away doesn’t mean it’s a bad reflection of his home situation. He could be on the spectrum for example say with little insight. Don’t be so quick to judge until you know the full story. Also the cops don’t hand back kids to parents if they find out they are living in a bad situation. That’s why they have child services. Prayers for the kid, his mum and the heroes from law enforcement that didn’t wait for 24 hours before starting their search. Some countries mandate that police cannot search for a mission child until 24 hours is passed. What a relief this situation was resolved so quickly and safely.

  4. If a child choose to spend the night on the ground in the middle of woods covered in his blanket that says a lot by itself… but then he says that he don’t want to be with his mom because she’s mean to him… I hope that boy now has loving home that he deserves ❤

  5. Im glad he was found but i also hope that since the boy was crying and would rather sleep on the ground in the wood than in his own bed does say a lot and I pray he gets the help he needs as well as maybe family counseling if that is needed to.

  6. Took him back home? Is that the appropriate thing to do after what the kid said. Seems like further investigation would be needed before returning to same environment. 😮

  7. I sure hope they looked into this atleast, yeah kids say their parents are mean for simple discipline. But if he ran away and was willing to sleep in a dark forest it may be more than just discipline.

  8. So was his mom mean to him? I mean,he ran away to get away from her. Was she abusive or was he just being told off for something. Kids can be dramatic about simply being disciplined. On the other hand there could have been serious issues here. I hope it was investigated.
