A train carrying 71 people disappeared in the mountains in 1948.
Years later, investigators discovered records suggesting that 72 people had vanished.
But when investigators later examined the passenger records, they discovered something impossible.
The official records suggested that 72 people had disappeared.
One more person than the train should have carried.
Then they found Seat 17.
The ticket existed.
The seat existed.
But the passenger’s name was missing.
Night Express Number Nine departed Ashcroft Station on December 22nd, 1948, carrying families, railway workers, a doctor, a school teacher, and three engineers.
The train was expected to reach Raven’s Crossing before sunrise.
It never arrived.
Search teams found damaged railway infrastructure but no locomotive, no passenger cars, no luggage, and no bodies.
Years later, a railway historian discovered the mysterious passenger manifest.
Then came another document.
A letter from locomotive engineer Samuel Rhodes describing a strange figure repeatedly appearing beside the tracks.
And decades later, witness Eleanor Briggs reported seeing an old steam locomotive emerge from the fog on railway tracks that were supposedly no longer in use.
But the investigation eventually led to something even stranger.
Tunnel Six.
Original engineering blueprints showed the tunnel was 183 meters long.
Modern surveys measured only 167 meters.
Sixteen meters were missing.
No collapse.
No reconstruction.
No explanation.
And now, decades later, a group of university students arrived at Black Hollow to investigate the abandoned railway for themselves.
This is Part 2 of the Black Hollow investigation.
And what they discovered inside Tunnel Six would become one of the most disturbing pieces of evidence connected to the ghost train.
