Lucian Munguia went missing at Sarg Hubbard Park near the Yakima River in Washington around 7:15 p.m. Saturday.
After searching for 15 minutes, his family called police, and authorities mounted a major search effort in the park, river and nearby areas.
The search led by the Yakima County sheriff’s search and rescue team has involved more than 150 people, with crews from Pierce, King, Spokane, Kittitas and Klickitat counties, Moses Lake and Gleed fire and the U.S. Air Force. Searchers have used 15 search dogs, ATVs, boats, kayaks, drones, underwater drones, dive teams and a helicopter.
“Unfortunately, there is a fast-flowing river, a pond, and a deep lake in that direction,” the release said. “Underwater drones and divers checked both bodies of water with negative results.” Detectives established that the boy left the playground alone and headed south and east, according to a press release .

It’s sad that some people prey on the little ones or take their grown-up problems out on the children. I think the odds of finding a missing young one alive after 24 hours goes down exponentially with each passing hour. I hope he’s found alive, but the odds are not good this will be the case. I pray for his family and all those who loved him.

I was worried about the amount of water surrounding that park. A big pond near and also right by the Yakima river. Some very not nice neighborhoods in Yakima and a lot of crime. This makes me question even more why its not mandatory for playgrounds to be fenced.
Here in Australia alot of popular/big parks are fully fenced. And the ones that aren’t are usually in safer areas away from roads, water etc.
I feel like it should be a worldwide standard that parks and playground (or at least the ones close to traffic and water) should be gated for safety. It would also decrease the chance of kidnappings if there’s only one exit

You can watch a child like a hawk, but they are still unpredictable and fast.
Unfortunately this is Yakima and it’s not very safe here at all. The parks are trashed. Homeless ppl sleeping or fighting or shooting up. I’ve found drug bags & needles here. I don’t even take my kids to the parks anymore. I agree with your comment whole heartily I wish there were stricter rules here.

I really think the parents killed this poor boy, and staged it to look like he ran away from the park, like it was an accident. All the attention has been surrounding the park, making them look like victims. They have given off vibes since the go. This video/reading is so on point with what I believe.

This park is dangerous because of the homeless and crime near there. City council members need to make changes for the safety of it’s community. We can no longer ignore this vile behavior from people with no accountability. Praying for Lucians safe return.

Everyone from Yakima knows about that park – my Husband and I ride our bikes by there, and I don’t even like being on my bike in that park……not just the people but the river is right there and runs fast. . . This year it’s running even quicker than past years.
He’s still missing, I can’t believe that he disappeared a mile away from where I stay. My baby girl is Autistic and I wouldn’t be able to sleep. Resources are being called off and they would like volunteers to help search for him. I pray and hope for the best. What we know from the news and family, your read is mostly spot on. We’ll have to wait and see what happens.
Living close to this park I take my girls there often definitely a scary place to lose a child the surrounding area could unfortunately be fatal to a lost child I pray Lucian is found and the answers we need come to light soon I was out there looking for him this morning breaks my heart let’s keep him in our prayers 🙏🙏
The last place the dogs were able to pick up a scent from him was behind Walmart (which is across the st from the park) at this abandoned building. Then they weren’t able to pick up anything else. They said it was like he just disappeared, like someone took him. There’s a houses and apartments further down and there’s a long dirt road. The night this happened I had a horrible feeling in my stomach and I couldn’t sleep for some reason. I felt like something bad was going to happening and I felt so scared. I never get that way for no reason. And I found out what happened and it breaks my heart.

The story is absolutely heartbreaking as a Yakima resident I am thinking of this mother every day. From my understanding the park that he is was at is right by the Yakima river which is no help and then I know the homeless people have not been helping with the situation either.

He has just been found!!! I came back to this video.. sadly we knew Lucian was no longer with us. He was found in a river near Yakima (wapato) known to the unknown yet, rest in paradise Lucian 12/30/22 🕊️
