An Amber Alert has been issued for a 1-year-old boy abducted from Person County.

The Person County Sheriff’s Office is searching for the boy, Gabriel Newman who has black hair and brown eyes. He is 30 inches tall and weighs about 21 pounds. He was wearing a black and white Nike outfit, shorts, with a black and white Nike logo.

The sheriff’s office said the man accused of abducting Gabriel is Gregory Wendell Newman. He is 6 ft. tall and weighs 190 pounds. He has black long dreadlocks and brown eyes. He has a tattoo of a dollar sign over his right eye and the words "love and hate" tattooed over his left and right hands. He also has a tattoo of the letter "G" on his right arm. He was wearing a white shirt with fire flames on it and light-colored jeans with patches. He was also wearing a scarf over his dreads, according to investigators.

They were last seen traveling on NC Highway 57 towards Danville, VA in a Black 2015 Volkswagen Passat North Carolina registration TDL-8320.
