The director has a habit of jumping to each detective’s personal life not relevant to the story. If the director is reading this, you should have separate movies to each detective’s life.
The detective’s personal lives are relevant to the story, they show how the cops “life” affects their professional relationships with colleagues. **spoiler**: the cheating hungover-cop waking up late, missing stuff on the case, the childless cop taking time off the case to have adoption appointment…it adds to the story–their own back story.
